Want perfectly chewy peanut butter oat cookies every time? These simple tips will help you get the texture just right and make the process even smoother.
Here’s how to get the most delicious results:
- Use old-fashioned oats and blend them well. Use old-fashioned oats and make sure to blend them into a fine flour. This gives the cookies that sweet oat flavor while keeping the texture soft and chewy.
- Don’t skip the mix of sweeteners. Brown sugar adds depth and chewiness, while honey brings extra moisture. Using both creates a better texture than one alone.
- Stir the peanut butter in well. Make sure your natural peanut butter is well-stirred before measuring. If it’s separated, the cookie dough won’t come together properly.
- Don’t overbake. These cookies are best when slightly underbaked. Take them out when the edges are set but the centers still look a bit soft—they’ll continue to firm up as they cool, staying chewy instead of dry.
