How to make honey glazed walnuts
Check out how easy it is to make these delicious spiced glazed walnuts:
- Toast the walnuts: Heat your oven to 350° F. Spread the walnut halves evenly on a rimmed baking sheet and toast them for about 8-10 minutes, until fragrant. Keep a close eye on them to make sure they don’t burn. Put the toasted walnuts in a large bowl to cool.
- Make the honey glaze: Put the butter, honey, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring often to keep it from burning.
- Add vanilla: Once the mixture has boiled enough, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Coat the walnuts: Pour the hot honey glaze over the walnuts. Toss quickly and thoroughly to ensure each piece is evenly coated. Another person can be really helpful with this step.
- Let set: Spread the coated walnuts on a lined tray. Let the glaze set entirely before storing in an airtight container.

Prep tips
Making honey glazed walnuts is easy, but a few tips can help you get the best results every time.
From prep to storage, here’s how to make sure your walnuts turn out perfectly crisp, flavorful, and ready to enjoy.
- Use fresh nuts: Fresh walnuts make a big difference in flavor. Taste the walnuts before using to make sure they aren’t stale.
- Work quickly: Once you pour the glaze over the walnuts, act fast. The glaze sets up quickly as it cools.
- Grab a helper: Like buttering popcorn, having a helper to toss the nuts while you pour the glaze will help you evenly coat the walnuts.
- Spread to cool and set: After coating the walnuts, spread them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool. This helps them set evenly without sticking together.
- Storage: After the glazed walnuts have set completely, store them in an airtight container at room temperature.

Conclusion
Honey glazed walnuts are an easy yet really tasty treat or snack you can make whenever.
With their warm spices, buttery honey glaze, and perfect crunch, they’re sure to become a favorite at your house.
Whether you’re making them as a gift doe your neighbors during the holidays or just treating yourself, these homemade spiced nuts will never disappoint.

Instructions
- Place an oven rack in the center position. Heat the oven to 325° F.
- Spread the walnuts out into an even layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Put in the hot oven and let toast for 5 – 8 minutes. You know they're toasted when they're fragrant (toasted walnuts smell like popcorn to me).2 ½ cups walnut halves
- Once toasted, transfer the walnuts to a large bowl to stop the cooking and let them cool.
- On the stovetop in a small pot over medium-low heat, add the butter, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.2 TBS butter, ¼ cup honey, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp ginger, ¼ tsp nutmeg, ¼ tsp salt
- Bring to a boil for 3 – 5 minutes. You'll know it's cooked enough when it goes from noisy to quieter and the boil is slower.
- Once the glaze is boiled enough, remove it from the heat and quickly pour over the walnuts. Having a second person to toss the walnuts while you pour the glaze is very helpful.
- Continue to shake and toss the walnuts in the bowl until they are completely coated.
- After coating the walnuts, spread them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool. This helps them set without sticking together.
