Servings 1 serving

Ingredients

  • ½ TBS cocoa powder (5 g)
  • ½ TBS maple syrup (15 g)
  • ½ tsp vanilla (3 g)
  • 1 cup milk (250 g)

Instructions

  • In a large microwave-safe mug, vigorously mix the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla together until it becomes a smooth paste.
½ TBS cocoa powder, ½ TBS maple syrup, ½ tsp vanilla
  • Pour in only about a 1/4 cup of the milk. Stir well until the paste fully incorporates in with the milk, making sure the spoon makes contact with the bottom and sides of the mug. I like to start with just a little milk at first so I can mix without fear of splashing anything out.
    1 cup milk
  • Slowly pour in the rest of the milk. Gently stir to combine everything.
  • Place the mug in the microwave and heat on high for 1 minute. Carefully stir the cocoa, then microwave it for 1 minute more.
  • Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it may be hot!) and give the cocoa a taste. If it’s not warm enough, microwave it for an additional 10-15 seconds.
  • Top with whipped cream or marshmallows and add a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!
