Sometimes you want dessert now. That’s where this healthy banana chocolate chip mug cake comes in.
It’s a single-serving treat you can mix up in minutes, made with simple pantry staples and a ripe banana.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 TBS (42 g) honey
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • tsp baking soda
  • tsp table salt
  • ¼ cup (35 g) whole wheat flour
  • 2 TBS mini chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • In a cereal bowl, mash the banana until smooth.
    1 ripe banana
  • Add the honey and vanilla and mix to incorporate.
    2 TBS (42 g) honey, ¼ tsp vanilla
  • Stir in the baking powder, baking soda, and salt until completely dissolved.
    ½ tsp baking powder, ⅛ tsp baking soda, ⅛ tsp table salt
  • Gently fold in the flour.
    ¼ cup (35 g) whole wheat flour
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
    2 TBS mini chocolate chips
  • Lightly grease a microwave safe mug.
  • Pour the batter into prepared mug. Microwave for a minute at a time, checking after every minute. The mug cake is done when the center is smooth and set. Can take 2-3 minutes, depending on your microwave.
  • Let cool for about a minute, then enjoy right out of the mug!
