Creamy Date Sweetened Cream Cheese Frosting

- 12 - 13 whole medjool dates (170 g), pitted
- ¼ cup cocoa powder (30 g)
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate (57 g) chopped
- ½ cup boiling hot water
- 12 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 stick butter softened
- 1 TBS vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
To a high speed blender, add the dates, cocoa powder, and chopped chocolate. Pour boiling hot water over everything. Let sit for 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, with a hand held mixer on medium-high speed, mix together the cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and salt until well combined.
12 oz cream cheese, 1 stick butter, 1 TBS vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp salt
After the dates and chocolate have soaked for 5 minutes, blend all together until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the blender as needed.
Make sure the date paste is cool before pouring in the bowl with the butter and cream cheese. Beat the date paste and cream cheese mixture together on high until smooth and fluffy.
