Homemade Lemon Countertop Spray

Learn how to make a homemade lemon countertop spray. This homemade spray uses a common kitchen food scrap (lemon peels!) to make a fresh smelling countertop cleaner that is inexpensive, all natural, and will help freshen up your kitchen.

Equipment

  • glass bottle with lid
  • mesh strainer
  • wide mouthed pitcher
  • funnel
  • empty spray bottle

Materials

  • lemon peels
  • white distilled vinegar
  • lemon essential oil (optional)

Instructions

  • Fill a glass bottle with lemon peels until the peels reach the top of the bottle.
  • Pour white distilled vinegar into the jar until the lemon peels are covered in vinegar.
  • Screw the lid tightly on the bottle. Store it in a dark cool place for two weeks to infuse the vinegar with the lemon.
  • After two weeks, pour the infused vinegar through a mesh strainer placed over a wide mouthed pitcher.
  • Using a funnel, pour the vinegar into an empty spray bottle until it's halfway filled. Fill the spray bottle the rest of the way with clean water.
  • If you want to up the lemony smell, add 5 - 10 drops of lemon essential oil. Shake the spray bottle filled with lemon cleaner to mix all together.
